Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where are services provided?

Services are typically provided at the Striding in Speech therapy clinic located at 431 Oak St. in Graham, Tx. While we do not provide in-home therapy, we are able to provide therapy at certain private schools and daycares. Please contact us for more information and specific questions.

  • When is the best age to start therapy?

Now! If you have any concerns about your child’s speech or language development, I always recommend an evaluation. A speech evaluation is important because it helps determine whether or not your child needs speech therapy. Research has shown that the earlier a child begins services, the better their outcomes will be.

You can request a speech and language evaluation at your child’s pediatrician or call us directly and we can guide you through the evaluation process.,

  • Do you accept health insurance?

Yes, Striding in Speech is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Amerigroup, and Traditional Medicaid. We are currently out-of-network with all other insurance providers.

All payment is due at the time of service. Striding in Speech, LLC accepts payment by cash, credit card, or debit card. You can also use a flex spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) card to help pay for speech therapy services. We are currently in the process of getting credentialed with other insurance companies. Contact us about our current private pay therapy and evaluation rates or any questions regarding insurance you may have.

  • How often will my child need speech therapy?

Therapy length and frequency will vary for each client. Following an initial evaluation, if therapy is recommended, our speech-language pathologist will provide recommendations for therapy length and frequency. Therapy is most often recommended 1-2xs per week but can vary depending on each client’s specific needs.

  • If my child is receiving speech at school can he/she also receive speech therapy with you?

Absolutely! If you feel like your child needs additional support outside of the speech services they receive at school let us know. The great thing about private speech therapy is your child will receive 1-on-1, individualized treatment as opposed to group therapy. In most cases, private speech therapy sessions are more frequent and longer in length compared to school-based services. Many families often seek out private speech therapy services during summer break to maintain skills while school is out.
