About Me
Hi! I’m so glad you are here!
I’m Amber, the SLP behind Striding in Speech.
I’m an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist and have a passion for working with kids. It’s something that has always come naturally to me. That, along with my helper personality type, is what ultimately guided me to become a SLP.
After completing my Masters of Science at Kansas State University, in 2015, I completed my clinical fellowship year working in a middle school and high school. Since then, I’ve spent the rest of my career working in pediatric clinics with a variety of different clients including, but not limited to, autistic children, speech sound disorders, language disorders, language delays, literacy deficits, pragmatic/social deficits, fluency disorders. In 2018, I gained experience working part-time for a telepractice company. I love being a speech-language pathologist, but more importantly, I love that I get to serve a variety of kids with a variety of different abilities and needs.
I’m certified in The Hanen Program- It Takes Two to Talk™ which sparked my passion for building relationships with clients and their families in order to work towards speech and language goals. I also have additional, specialized training in literacy, executive functioning, and orofacial myology. In my free time, I also create no-prep/no print materials that are engaging for students and decrease the prep and planning time needed for SLPs.
